ABOUT US
We are a group of friends of all ages which ride every marque and every type of of motorcycle.
Most of us live in New Jersey, but our bikes take us everywhere.
Our Annual Trip To Vermont
We kick off each riding season with a week-long springtime trip to Vermont and stay at the Short Hills Ski Club's Lodge located along the Green Mountain State's famous Route 100. The Lodge serves as our point of departure for exploring Vermont’s gently rolling valley roads as well as twisty and challenging mountain passes. VERMONT 25 will run from Tuesday, May 27th through Sunday, June 1st. Simply click here to go to the related "Events" page for more details. If you cannot stay the full week, then join us when you can and make it a long weekend. Arrangements are flexible.

SMOG Weekends
Then, once we return back home to New Jersey, SMOG Weekends (Summer Motorcycle Overnight Getaway Weekends) provide opportunities for us to get together throughout the summer and into the fall. Such events occur on a monthly basis and each weekend has a unique theme defined by its destination. They all begin on Saturday mornings and get us home by Sunday night.
The dates and descriptions for this year’s SMOG Weekends are listed below. Just click on any date to jump to the related "Events" page for additional details.
6/28 - Travel the Delaware River Valley north into the Central New York State Watershed Region which can best be described as “miles of gently rolling countryside and empty sweepers”. If you have never visited this area, you are in for a treat.

7/19 - Journey to the Motorcyclepedia Museum in Newburgh, NY which contains over 650 motorcycles and related memorabilia assembled by a father-son team through a combined effort totaling eighty years. Explore the museum's website at motorcyclepediamuseum.org.
8/16 - Dare to stay at a Haunted Hotel? Want to learn the history and ghostly details of the 1867 Parkview Inn in Owego, NY? Click here. The Inn has only 16 rooms, so reserve yours now at owegoparkviewinn.com.
9/13 - Fly up the Hudson River Valley to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinebeck, NY, a living history aviation museum, for a Saturday afternoon airshow featuring vintage aircraft from the Golden Age of Aviation. You can even arrange a barnstorming flight in an open-cockpit biplane if you feel adventurous. Here is the website: oldrhinebeck.org.

IN SUMMARY
Our trips are varied in nature and each is individually described in greater detail elsewhere on this website.
We are not a club with any dues or obligations. However, once you indicate that you will be joining us on a trip, all I ask is that you arrive the starting point in advance of the designated “kickstands up” time with a full tank of gas and an empty bladder, WEAR APPROPRIATE GEAR, AND RIDE IN A SAFE AND RESPONSIBLE MANNER.
Email me if you have any questions or if you would like to join us on an upcoming trip. I can be reached at WanderlustRidersNJ@gmail.com. (Be sure to include the "NJ".)

New faces are always welcome.

Your motorcycle adventure impresario,
Fred Larcombe

Fred lives in Belle Mead, NJ with his wife, his dog, and his Honda CBR1000. Over the past few decades he has ridden as far West as the Pacific Coast Highway, as far East as the Stelvio Pass, and many places in between. He was a MSF Instructor for many years and has been organizing the trips to Vermont even longer. SMOG Weekends were a successful addition to the mix during 2024 and are back again this year with new destinations.
Why does he organize these trips? To introduce younger riders to the pleasure and adventure of more than just "day rides" and to get out on the road with the most interesting individuals as possible.
